The Radboud Scholarship Programme offers a unique opportunity for international students to pursue a Master’s degree at Radboud University in the Netherlands. This prestigious scholarship provides significant financial assistance, making it more accessible for talented students from around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Radboud Scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Nationality: Hold a passport from a country outside the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA).
  • Enrollment: Be enrolled as a full-time student in an English-taught Master’s program at Radboud University, commencing on September 1, 2025.
  • Academic Background: Have obtained (or be in the process of obtaining) a Bachelor’s degree from a university outside the Netherlands.
  • English Proficiency: Meet the English language proficiency requirements set by Radboud University.
  • Visa Requirements: Be able to comply with the necessary procedures for obtaining a visa to study in the Netherlands.
  • Previous Education: Have not previously obtained a degree or received any prior education from any university within the Netherlands (exchange programs are excluded if they were part of a Bachelor’s degree earned outside the Netherlands).

Key Benefits

The Radboud Scholarship offers substantial financial support to the selected recipients:

  • Tuition Fee Reduction: A significant reduction in tuition fees from the standard €18,000 to €2,601 for the 2025-26 academic year.
  • Additional Coverage: Coverage of costs associated with obtaining a visa, residence permit, health insurance, and liability insurance (Aon Student Insurance) for the duration of the student’s stay in the Netherlands.

Important Note: The scholarship does not cover living expenses or other costs associated with studying in the Netherlands.

Available Scholarships

A total of 18 scholarships are available for the 2025-26 academic year.

Application Process

To apply for the Radboud Scholarship, eligible candidates must follow these steps:

  1. Apply to a Master’s Program: Apply to an eligible English-taught Master’s program at Radboud University.
  2. Submit Scholarship Application: Once accepted into the program, submit a separate application for the Radboud Scholarship through the online portal.
  3. Upload Required Documents: Upload all necessary supporting documents, including:
    • Valid passport
    • Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript
    • Letter of admission to the Master’s program
    • Proof of English language proficiency
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • Two letters of recommendation

Selection Criteria

The selection of scholarship recipients will be based on the following criteria:

  • Academic Excellence: Outstanding academic performance in the previous field of study, demonstrated through grades, test scores, and publications.
  • Relevance of Previous Degree: The relevance of the applicant’s previous degree to the chosen Master’s program.
  • University Ranking: The ranking of the university where the applicant obtained their previous degrees.
  • Ambition and Motivation: The quality and relevance of the applicant’s motivation letter for the Master’s program, and their demonstrated promise based on previous achievements, performances, and work in the relevant field.
  • Life Experience: Consideration of life experience and/or extracurricular activities such as internships or volunteering.
  • References: The quality of the two letters of recommendation, preferably from academic referees.

Selection Process

All scholarship applications will be evaluated individually by the selection committee of the respective faculty. The selection process will be based on the criteria outlined above. Some study programs may require interviews as part of the selection process.
